Kachuful is a trick-taking card game that has its origins in India. It is a variation of the well-known game Oh Hell and is referred to as Judgment or Forecasting in various regions.
The game offers several variations, raising questions such as whether players tally their scores by adding 10 to their hands or by multiplying their hands by 10. Additionally, a common rule in some settings restricts the last player from guessing the remaining hands in a round; this option can be configured within the game settings.
To start a game, one can create a new room and invite friends to join. While participants connect, players have the opportunity to review the settings before commencing the game once all participants are present.
During gameplay, each player receives an increasing number of cards—one card in round one, two cards in round two, and so forth up to round eight. The trump suit rotates with each round, following a predetermined order of Spades, Diamonds, Clubs, and Hearts. At the beginning of every round, players are tasked with estimating the number of hands they will win. Notably, the last player to make an estimate cannot select remaining cards in that round, ensuring at least one player will not meet their prediction. This rule can be toggled by the Room Admin within the settings.
Players then take turns playing one card, with the first player's card type influencing the cards other players may play. Should a player lack the necessary card type, they may opt to use a trump card to secure the hand or play any other card available. Players score points based on whether they achieve the exact number of hands they initially estimated. For instance, if a player predicts they will win three hands and succeeds in doing so, they earn either 13 or 30 points, contingent upon the settings determined by the Room Admin. Ultimately, the player accumulating the highest points by the conclusion of eight rounds is declared the winner.
